Yes there may be. What is a graphics gale? Is it over force 7? [Edited on April 19, 2006 by Mezzmer] ____________ |

You can pick the transparent colour in the palette of GraphicsGale, I think. Edit: Just ran it. My best guess would be colour 0 is transparent when using 8 bit colour and otherwise use rgb 0,0,0. rgb 0,0,0 #000000 are both black, there is no "transparent" colour to put on the palette as far as i could see.

I just had a quick look, and I'm really not sure. There's a transparent function, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything apart from making black squares. And I'm fairly sure that 0,0,0 isn't the transparent colour. Although I could be mistaken.

If you use an fpg (fpgedit) then it's just black.

Ugh. In Gale you select the transparent colour on the layer properties, that colour then becomes the trans colour, FOR THAT LAYER ONLY.

I recommend you save it as a 16-bit (I wish Fenix supported 24-bit) PNG file and make everything you wish to have transparant in Fenix black (select black for transparant in graphicsgale). Then put it in an fpg with a program such as FPGEDIT. It will look black on the image but as soon you use it in a program the black will become transparant. If you want real black just use rgb 1,1,1 or something. I did this before and it works here. for dark images or images with a dark border or outline I use white as temporarily color and later replace all pure white with pure black... sounds like a good idea. Although, if Frim were around he'd tell you, I'm sure he knows. The rest of us are just too rubbish.
