I was really interested in dinosaurs as a little kid. However the interest ebbed away as I got older, and I realised even prehistoric creatures are still animals, and I wasn't very interested in modern day animals(I considered the zoo boring), so why would I be interested in ancient animals? It's maybe interesting to see them once and know they once existed, but that's about it.
