For you it was maybe, but not for me. The story was lame and the characters were lame as well. And when I thought things couldn't get worse they came with final fantasy 13. The best FF is in my humble opinion FF8, because I had about the same age as Squall when I played it. Same goes for FF9 and Zidane. I played FFX only in 2006 so the magic was a bit lost, but it was still great. everything after FFX sucked cock. ____________ Kwakkel |

But but the characters are always pretty lame. Except perhaps Quistis <3 FFXII was the first one (well, I only started at VII) that the *gameplay* actually felt really fun for me, more than just grinding through annoying random battles. (usually I play FF for the story..) ____________ :o |

Ooh, an actual topic on BS. I like the FF series as well. Have finished VII, VII: Crisis Core, VII, IX and X. Am still working through XII, XIII and VII: Dirge of Cerberus (though not actively). Have yet to start with X-2. Have also played XI, but it's too hardcore for me. I find it hard to say which one was my favorite. VII was the first one I played (rental), but got VIII shortly after it. I finished that one, then got to IX. I've only just finished VII (and Crisis Core) last year. X was good as well, but very different from VII to IX. Still, I enjoyed it a lot. I think IX and VII share the 1st position. I really like them both. A lot. After that comes X, then VIII. Of the ones I'm still playing (or rather haven't finished yet) I like the setting and story of XIII, but it's too linear. Unlike X you don't have any shops or cities where you can talk to people. XII's story doesn't interest me a lot. I dunno what it is. All I remember so far is the endless walking in that Nam Yem Desert or something. Anyway, first one to finish will be XIII and then perhaps start with XIII-2 (when it comes out). I still plan on finishing X-2, XII and Dirge of Cerberus (which is actually a good game!). If you own an Xbox 360 or PS3 I suggest you get Eternal Sonata as well. Aside from the battle system (which is a lot of fun, but easy) it's a lot like FF VII/X with the cities, puzzles and interaction. ____________ blog.htbaa.com |

XIII has better characters/story than XII, but seriously, why the hell is it called final fantasy, it's not like any other final fantasy. Even the chocobo theme is different. It all started to suck when teh victory theme changed. The victory theme is still in FFXII at least... when FFXII was out I was like "wow what a change, this is really weird" I thought the game sucked. But compared to XIII, XII is an amazing game. >.> FF XIII is complete shit. I expected at least a reference to Red XIII from FF VII. I mean, who didn't? ____________ Kwakkel |
