You pneois! What I was going to ask. I'm fairly sloppy when it comes to browsing, and it happened a good handful of times that I accidentally clicked Chat Room instead of Messageboard. Now, other links give just a page, Chat Room gives certificate stuff, then Java loading, and THEN the page. So, can you maybe put Chat Room under Worklogs so I can't click it. Bit silly as a request but hey, that's what the topic is for, idea's. Another thing, would it be possible to next to the Post Reply link between the Quick Reply and the topic, to have a button next to Quick Reply's Submit button that takes you to the Post Reply page and keeps the Quick Post. And maybe a Preview button? Often I start in the Quick Reply only to realize halfway I need a tag or smiley that can't be looked up directly from there. Not really necessary, but it would streamline things a bit. Notice that it's more aesthetic things I'm posting. Is that asked for, or do you want more bugthingy's and less minor feature moaning? And is it me, or is only a small part of the BBCode actually documented at the Post Reply page? Maybe if someone has time a popup or some more info on the page would be handy. And, instead of a Disable BBCode box, maybe a Disable Smileys box would be better, where smileys can interfere with code or something(is that even possible?). ____________ I am Moogle and I approve this message. Are you planning on adding functionality to it? If so, maybe a [wiki] tag would be cool to link to Wikipedia, maybe a [user] tag for when you want someone to contact a certain user. Super and subscript tags are not really necessary for me, but if they should be easy to implement maybe it's an option. And maybe a [docs=php]substr[/docs] tag? Or who knows, maybe a [google] one. You can never have enough BBCode I think. And on a forum note, is there already functionality for a special forum rules topic, I mean, not sticky'd but in a special box with a special colour? ____________ I am Moogle and I approve this message. I can add anything I want to it. Search tags are a great idea, I do like it those ideas. I forgot all about super and subscript tags, I don't know why. I will hereby add: [ wiki ] [ sub ] [ sup ] [ google ] As for forum rules, you mean like the announcement on the front page, but for individual forums? If so, I can add that in a few minutes. Awesome, quick response and already fixed. Brilliant. Though, looking at it, it doesn't stand out from other references. Maybe small icons, like Wikipedia has for external links, for the Google and Wikipedia tags would be an idea to add sometime? Or even a different typeset or colour would do it. And yeah, Something like on the frontpage would do for a short summary of forum specific information. For instance, links to Imageshack and Sendspace This might need some fixing though: [google][wiki]Test[/wiki][/google] [Edited on February 7, 2006 by Moogle] ____________ I am Moogle and I approve this message. We're planning to have our own integrated wiki, in fact. And yes there will be a tag to link words in text to it. But yeah similar tags that lead to other sites would be cool too. I agree on having some indicator of where links are going such as internal or external. Oh wait you've already done it - lol! Ferret add the user tag - that's definately needed. As for forum rules, we have a site-wide rules page... do we really need seperate forum rules? ____________ |

By the way, about the worklogs. As well as doing the comments in seperate groovyboxes and not having the main content in groovyboxes and generally removing half the groovyboxes, I was thinking maybe instead of everyone having 5 seperate worklogs, they could have one big one and select whatever category they want for each post - so each time they write a new entry, they can choose to file it under an existing category (e.g. "Tank Game") or create a new category for it ("Some other game"). Then the worklogs could be read by category or by user. So you could for example read all the posts a user has made in their worklog in chronological order regardless of what the posts are about. You know, like Mike's worklog basically. I think it would be more user friendly to lift the 5 worklog limit anyway. Number of posts are the issue - not number of categories. And seeing as we want people to write stuff provided its not total crap (which we have moderators to remove) there should be no problems. Eh?
