zOMG! Skeletons and Bombs

Just an update of what I have. Still making the basics. When I'm happy with the result and finished with the basic jump/attack etc. stuff, I will begin with level design and story.

Hey this looks pretty fun. :D
I always liked platformers as long as the levels and game is big enough.

Do something about the floating barrels though... make them hang on ropes or something. In general you should add more stuff on the background, like ropes, filth, empty bottles, some dirty carpets with flies on them, ... i dunno. it creates more atmosphere and it can earn you more points for graphics. Maybe you were already planning to do that, but level design can incorperate that. (i.e. adding ropes for admosphere amnd combine it with gameplay by letting the pirate swing the ropes which would be ace) The gameplay looks awesome though.

Ropes, more ropes! (definately on a ship) :D

A great thing is the parrot (it is nice color and animation effect on screen), does it also have a purpose for the gameplay?

Oh, and maybe also change the rope ladders leading hanging on air... draw then to the top of the screen. if you want floating things you could at some sprinkles around them as if they are bewitched barrels! ;)

ps: do you use a tile editor?
