A small step for a kitten...

Jumping is in. It requires some skill to use properly. Kittens leave a trail when moving at high speed, as the cannonballs do.

A giant leap for kittenkind!

There's also a weapons menu now, but it's not solid enough for my taste. I'll double the icon size and make it acknowledge my mouse's hoverings.

I hope the wind is right...

The camera system now focuses on the active kitten, or a moving projectile. (Now to automagically determine the point of most interest at any time...)

Next to do is making the weapons menu more robust, adding more sounds and more kitten animation. Then it's time to improve the mousepointer.


The new kitten graphics were contributed by Ariel Yust. I like them. :)

In my screenshot I hope I don't get covered under my own bombardment, the wind being slightly to the right there.
Of course I could compensate by aiming more to the left...

The kittens used to be a little lower, but that looks strange when they're standing on top of each other. In 1.20 they were rotated to better match the terrain, but that didn't look too well.

I'll think of a solution yet.

The kittens don't walk. I think I'll use small leaps for moving. This has to do with the system being based on atomic actions and possible network considerations.

I think the weapons menu looks fine, aknowledging mouse hoverings is a good idea, but I think if you double the graphic's size, it'll look too big and out of place considering the game's visual style. 1.5x the size might work, but personally I'd just leave them the same size.

Of course, do what you think is best, thats just my humble oppinion.
