A new attack method! Coming along nicely...

I decided that gameplay was a bit boring/tiresome, and that people may find the game a little bleak if it's run-jump-run-sword all the way through.

So part of bringing Hero up to date - I decided on another attack style, jumping on enemies in a Mario style BOP! as I have called it. The best thing about it is BOP!ing seems harder when there is more than one enemy around.. because of the way I programmed velocities of the Hero character. Generally people will find sword attacks more useful with multiple enemies, and maybe combine attacks for fun. Whew, enough about the reasons for that...

I have cleared up the main bug that was pestering the game - the reason being totally uncool programming on my part. Also altered the code, improving the speed of the game in very tiled/indoor levels a LOT.

Now to design some more levels, and include some of the nice graphics I have kept since 2002.

Thanks to Sandman as always for helping with a few scrolling bugs.

From here the game should develop faster still... I'm thinking about some good sounds to include, so I'll find a SFX maker and see what happens.

sounds good. maybe you could make an alternate sprite for when hero is on his way down, so that his sword is aimed downward, to go along with the Mario "bop" attack.
