Well, i realised that my speakers were crap, so i went off to the depths of my house in search of better ones...
which i didn't find ¬_¬

However, on my journeys, i did turn up two other sets of speakers, including one with a subwoofer attached!

So in my infinate wisdom i plugged them into the back of my computer

I got a 5.1 100W per channel surround receiver. I only have two 100W speakers connected though. I also have two 30W stereo receivers, both with two 30W speakers.
Recently I bought two second hand receivers: a 70W stereo receiver and some receiver I don't know the specs of, but I guess around 50W on each of the four channels. The latter I bought because of the equalizer it was bundled with (it also came with two speakers)
Tomorrow I'm going to pick the bundle up! By train and scooter:

And these numbers are RMS. So Oyster, let's see you outvolume me! :P

Have fun with all of those wires :)

I have a single lead that runs to my guitar amp, lots of noise! XD
However, the cable is crap, so to get good sound quality you need to turn the volume on the PC right down and compensate with the volume on the amp.

you use a guitar amp as pc speaker?
i thought guitar amps were designed for only certain frequencies? Atleast thats what my Music Student friend says when i suggested that she use her marshall stack as a laptop speaker...

Marshall stacks may well be, however mine (line 6 spider II) has a 3.5mm input designed for mp3 players to go in. I wouldn't suggest feeding the output from a PC into the guitar input on an amp though, which is probably what she meant.
