So can anyone provide me with some advice on ripping and converting part of a DVD to an xvid for youtube? Currently I'm using a thing called 123 DVD Convertor but the results are far from satisfying. It seemed to work best when I made a mini iso with dvd shrink and then uploaded it and let youtube resize it. So does anyone have tips or advice for me? ____________ I see 57,005 people. |

I've never uploaded to youtube, but I know that DVD Shrink is a great program. For converting to mpeg (so it can then be re-converted and transferred to my MP3 player), I use a thing called DVDx. Its the best DVD > MPEG1/2/AVI converter I've found, but it does take some getting used to. From there my MP3 software (Samsung Multimedia Studio) converts it to an SVI file (optimised and resised for the player), which looks lovely (or as lovely as something can on a 1.8" screen) so it should work well when you upload it to youtube aswell, especially if you set DVDx to convert to 320x240 (youtubes recommended resolution). I used Gordian Knot once to rip to xvid. There are tutorials online too.
It takes a long time to rip it though. I'm not sure about clips, but you can always cut out some parts with another program (i.e. windows movie maker), but I think all should be possible with Gordian Knot. ____________ Kwakkel |

I've not used Gordian Knot because it seems insanely hard to setup and use.
