Hey all, Recently I came across this movie, which contains a flight of a radio controlled airplane with a camera onboard. The camera sends its data to virtual reality glasses on the plane controller's head, and reacts on movement of the head by use of a gyroscope. This creates the illusion that the controllers has taken seat in the airplane, and allows him to watch the landscape and look around as if he had! It's a do-it-yourself project btw. Really cool, and whenever I have infinite time on my hands I will surely give this a try (sadly that might still be years away in the future). ____________ Personal website: http://www.loijson.com |

Woah, woah and ROAR. That is some awesome piece of equipment. Should've cost a lot, but it would be worth it. Damn. And the music is lovely, fits the movie very well.

Check this out, it's an all-in-one package with VR glasses with a preinstalled gyroscope, a camera, battery and signal amplifyer. It will cost you about 1000 euros, rather much so you better not crash the plane if you buy it. That website has a movie page for the product btw, with more recordings of cool RC airplanes with cams attached. ____________ Personal website: http://www.loijson.com |

One day... although I think the camera movement is a bit lost on a plane since you can fly in most directions anyway (at least when you're high enough). A wheeled robot would benefit more. ____________ :o |
