If you can risk it with your PC, you can download a beta of Internet Explorer 7.0 here: http://www.microsoft.com/windo … taredirect.mspx (obviously since it's a beta, you shouldn't install it on a PC which you can't afford to crash...) ____________ |

I use firefox because of the SwitchProxy extension. At school I'm behind a proxy server and I don't want to go to the settings all the time when I'm switching the network. Another thing is that when I do HTML and I follow my brain logically Firefox presents it how I want it and Internet Explorer doesn't. It fux it all up. (especially CSS as Deadmaster noted earlier) I have to do "weird things" to let it work in IE as well as FF. ____________ |

It's bad because they rushed to slam as many features on as possible during the Netscape vs IE stuff that went on ten or so years ago. Which there was really no point, IE was always going to win, since it's free and ended up being packed with Windows. ____________ laffo |

It's in Microsoft's best interests for IE to render the web differently from any other browser. They've already got the majority share, so conforming to web standards would kill the advantage of having sites tailored to their browser alone. You're never going to see IE passing the ACID2 test, not because they can't but because they're selfish fucks. We need a [woody][/woody] tag. Well then it must have been a "silly rumour on the interweb grapevine", as this rumour involved an early version of windows with Microsoft Office coming free with the OS. It enrages me that those selfish fucking cunts would stop their browser from conforming to standards, just to cripple web designers everywhere. If I ever found out who had that idea, I'd skullfuck them until you could drink liquid brawn out of their eye sockets. And we also need a [colour] tag.
