This will probably come as no surprise to you guys..

I am doing a group assignment all on my own - yet again, because no one wants to group up with me. What a bunch of sad, lazy saps. My professor had to put me in another team because I e-mailed all the guys of my team and they told me they didn't want to participate. So now I have this new team and they seem to be profiting from my actions. I'm the only one reading a book of considerable size (600+ pages) and they don't think that English is important enough. No, they rather focus on programming. Jeez.

Anyway, I am rewarding myself with knowledge by reading this book (and Rince, you already know which one it is :D).

Heh, I had precisely one group assignment at university.

Not really being one to take the lead (understatement here), and since half the group were Polish and had bad english, I ended up with the documentation and writeup :-(

Two uber-keen guys went off and did most of the programming by themselves.

And it was supposed to teach teamwork, what a farce. University is a farce! The only thing it's good for is the piece of paper at the end. (And I haven't even had a need for that, yet.)

One.. one! You lucky guy.. we have numerous ones of them.. regularly. :'(

Did you know that there is a function out there called 'Documentation Writer/Technical Writer'. Not promoting it, but apparently it makes you big bucks. Rofl. :P

I think it is terribly selfish of those two guys to have gone off doing the programming by themselves.

It is almost always a farce.. in 99.99999% of the cases. Professors believe there was actual teamwork being done but.. reality proves differently. It proves that most beings are selfish. Yes I believe you are partially right about university being a farce, except for the cases of serious and devoted people like me (and of course you and many other eager young minds) who pluck the fruits of wisdom and knowledge from the trees of the University. It is the sad mentality of nowadays that has partially ruined the reputation of academics. Nonetheless, I respect serious academics such as Brian Cox and Brian Greene.

I will fight like a ferocious gladiator until I get my precious piece of paper. That certain piece of paper that will save me from the depths of depression and being destitute.

Consider yourself honored that I am replying here.. because I could as well be replying to other forums but I do not deem them to be worthy of my time or replies because they are.. well.. childish and a true waste of time.

In any case, I shall continue to read the book 'A history of nearly everything' by Bill Bryson. It is by far one of the most brilliant books I have ever read.

I think it will surely send me into the passions of new studies.. such as physics, chemistry, nature history.. this book is so inspiring in a way that I can not even begin to describe.

Greetings to you, DTM. :)
