Hello everyone I just dug out my old copies of DIV Games Studio and thought to myself "I realy need to find out what happened to the arena". So I did a long and lengthy search and I found a message on www.div-arena.co.uk pointing me here :D. Some years ago I went on holiday for a couple of weeks and when I came back the arena was all gone and shutdown and I had no idea why. I couldnt even get onto the old IRC board and I was heart broken :'(. And gutted that I couldnt remember the website where Mike was posting his progress on the windows version of DIV and ive heard nothing about it since. I spent a long time viewing all pages on archive.org but even those have gone now. What happened? and is anyone here originally from the arena? I used the same username on there aswell  MAXRPG!Hello

Ah welcome, MaxRPG. Many are from DIV Arena, but there are also some new guys. There's more activity on http://bennugd.org, though. Bennu is the successor of Fenix and has evolved quite a bit. So check it out if you want to pick up DIV style programming. If you are a C man now, stick around too.

hey MaxRPg welcomz I remember you =] Yea well Div-Arena died in a big bang killing lots of people hopes we are like a bunch of survivers hanging out in this great place we call home =] you should stick around mate work on some projects and share them here =] every once in a while we do competitions like in the old days, some compete in LD48 as usual and for example we just had a 1 month and a week extension  competition for winning a Gp2x  and did I say WELCOMZ? oh I did

maybe they move on because they use another program and thats why they make the forum dry, ahh the days of Div-Arena yep... btw on the latest competition good results were made we had 12 entrys! usualy we don't get that popular =] well I know that it's not booleansoup only and the spanish forum was entering also, but still very impressive u don't think? I think that if Bennu/Fenix was more advertised and user friendly to novice users we would have had much more people here and projects! =] for instance I know many youngsters who are willing to make there own computer games... if they could pass what I'v passed as a kid (Div) then they will be able to fulfill that dream =] we should make a competition about making tutorials and stuff make a community project to create REALY usefull stuff for Bennu as programs you know ^_^ example : shrink by Ecko VERY usefull program =] this is intresting subject any suggestions so far? ____________ Get bitten by a vampire or at least at my own character muhahahaha! http://s7.bitefight.org/c.php?uid=159944 |
