I'm about to start studying for my first degree in computer sciense and I'm TOTALY but TOTALY SCARED

I don't know if I make it, with all that math that I saw there... but what scares me most is that I don't know how the teaching will took place and what if I don't understand the meterial? will the teacher explain it to me or run forwared ?

I'm scared that I will fail my first degree :( do you guys have any suggestions ?

Keep up with what's taught in class, and don't fall behind. I always manage to fall behind with the work that has been given, and usually I have the idea that if I'm only a week or two weeks behind, I can still catch up in the weekends, but I only fall behind more and fail the class.

I read the silubus and 95% of the things presented there are totaly scary and no understood... I tried readiong about them on wiki and they looked like japanese for me =\

I hope the teacher will explain stuff pritty good because I heard that they just run forwared and don't care if you understand or not =\

is there any how to prepare ur self to this kind of trip for a degree? :S what did you do or/and had?

It depends on your syllabus. I failed a couple of years but got through in the end. Depending on what the course covers you can usually buy books or order them in the library that are much better and do the work outside the course depending on how good the lecturer is. It definitely helps to attend classes but the best advice is to get some good study buddies that can help explain stuff.

Also you can always ask in #bilge ;-)

whoa chill dude. It's fine. Just do ur shit. Don't panick before you even got to class. It's EZ, certainly there are people with no programming exp at all and you have DIV/fenix exp so you'll be in advantage to others. No need to worry. Chill out, have some (preferably Belgian) beers and some cocktails.

Ariel, if you're going to be learning C++, try and find a copy of 'C++ For Dummies', although the title is kind of insulting, it's actually a REALLY good book, I've got it and use it as a reference often.
