I had some problems with sound for NES emulation but I finally have sound (although I cannot change the volume).

I find SNES emulation not too bad, but it lags if there's much activity on screen. FPS may drop from 50 to 19. Zelda, being an older game, runs faster in general, but Super Metroid has more trouble since the many animations in the game. When I tried to program samus, her animation was 10 frames when standing still, I had about 200 different graphics, but her head, body and legs are probably 3 different processes which makes the whole a lot more dynamic.

I'll try the bennu wiz someday. :P

UPDATE 14/08/09

Today I tried Yoshi's island (SNES), and the question "can PSX games run on the GP2X WIZ?" is immediately answered by a simple word: NO. When playing Yoshi's island, a game from 1995 on SNES, I noticed it's demands are quite high. If you do not move the game runs smoothly at 30 FPS, the moment you try to move it backdrops to 1 till 8 FPS. I tried turning transparancy effects off, or no sound, and it was better, moving went to 15 FPS, but if there were a lot of sprites on screen it dropped back to 1. Since PSX has 32-bit processing and SNES 16-bit processing, it is obvious that the most performant PSX games (Such as "Castlevania SOTN") will be heavier than Yoshi's Island.

NES games all run fine, with no problems ever, but for SNES I would not recommend the latest SNES games starting from 1995. But in fact Super Metroid (1994) runs quite smoothly compared to Yoshi's Island, as does Final Fantasy IV and Mystic Quest and Zelda. The Pandora might be a better alternative for Yoshi's Island, but I still doubt it will run PSX games.

No 3D ont he wiz though, I reckon it will crash on it.

From what I have heard, you need a ps3 to play psone games on your psp. It would be awesome to play a Bennu/fenix game on it!

No you don't. You can download a couple of games from PSN. And with a custom firmware you can almost load any PSOne game.

Practically all PSOne games run on PSP. Haven't had any problems. Bought I couple from PSN and also converted some of my own games. Works fine.

I have now created a few apps for the Wiz. It's a lovely machine that goes with me pretty much everywhere.

My wiz broke without reason. I tried sending it back but Kim Jung punishes returning bad products to korea with death penalty.

I wouldn't recommend it. Amateuristic shizzle with no support at all.

NINTENDO 3DS ftw. :)
